Fundamentals of Safety Management: a 1/2 or full-day training session.
The number of components in a health & safety program can be staggering. Effectively managing programs and procedures ranging from workplace inspection and fall protection to confined space entry and emergency evacuation is critical to the ongoing safety of the workers. The key to understanding and managing a comprehensive program lies in a thorough understanding of the fundamental requirements of any health & safety program.
This course provides participants with an understanding of 3 of the key areas of safety management: Legislation / Due Diligence, Workplace Inspection and Accident Investigation.
Training Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Understand the scope of health & safety legislation affecting the workplace.
Navigate the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Industrial Establishments Regulations.
Identify key areas of the legislation, including General Duties, Work Refusal / Stoppage, MOL Inspector Powers and Fines.
Understand the term Due Diligence, as well as their specific role is establishing a Due Diligence defence.
Identify and apply key concepts in the areas of workplace inspection and accident investigation.

Options
This session is offered in a full day or 1/2-day format. The complete program, covering the training objectives listed above, requires a full-day session. For Senior Executive that require only an overview of the legal requirements and the inspection / investigation process, a 1/2 day session can be utilized.
