Introduction:

In direct response to Regulation 297/13: Occupational Health & Safety Awareness, STACS Inc. has developed and is now delivering a new series of training sessions. This new legislation affects every worker and supervisor working in provincially regulated company in Ontario. The provincial Ministry of Labour Inspectors will be in a position to confirm compliance with this legislation as of July 1, 2014. Over the course of this interactive session, participants will develop and have an opportunity to apply information relating to the 7 main points, required under Regulation 297/13.

Training Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to understand:

  • The duties and rights of workers under the Act.

  • The duties of employers and supervisors under the Act.

  • The roles of Health & Safety Representatives / Joint Health & Safety Committees.

  • The roles of the MOL, WSIB and other designated entities. Common workplace hazards.

  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). Occupational illnesses.

Target Audience:
  • All employees and associates.

Course Length and Options:

The course will vary in length based on whether or not WHMIS training is required. The program material can be covered in 2 hours for clients that have already conducted WHMIS training. If WHMIS training is required, 4 hours will be required to cover all course content. A number of courses can be scheduled over the same training day in order to maximize the training received and cost-effectiveness of the program.

A written comprehension check will be administered, as part of the training module. Participants that successfully complete the program will be provided with a Record of Training (ROT).
