FALL PROTECTION AND PREVENTION;

EQUIPMENT INSPECTION

8 hour training program

Introduction:

This course is designed for personnel responsible to conduct or oversee inspections of fall protection equipment.

This one-day program encompasses the development of inspection standards, a review of applicable legislative requirements and industry best practices as well as practice with hands-on exercises.

As part of the workshops, participants will inspect anchorage systems, harnesses and connecting devices to determine if the components are in a safe and useable condition.

 

Training Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Outline legislative requirements for inspection.

  • Develop site-specific inspection standards.

  • Identify damaging practices, modifications and trends.

  • Determine if the components of a fall protection / prevention system are used in a proper and safe manner.

  • Identify the service life of fall protection / prevention system components.

 

Target Audience:
  • Workers and Associates who are responsible for inspecting the components of a Personal Fall Protection System.

  • Supervisors and Managers of staff who use Fall Protection Equipment.

 

Course Length and Options:

This is a full-day (8-hour) Competent Person Inspection program.

The program may is offered on-site and can be tailored to use the client’s fall protection equipment rather than a generic set of equipment. This program may also be presented in a train-the-trainer format.

Successful completion of this program will require participants to pass a written test.
