FUNDAMENTALS OF SAFETY MANAGEMENT

4 or 8 hour training sessions

Introduction:

The scope of an effective Health and Safety Program can be staggering.

Effectively managing programs and procedures ranging from Workplace Inspection, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry to Due Diligence and Emergency Response, is critical to the ongoing safety of workers and associates.

The key to managing an effective Health and Safety Program lies in understanding these components and how they inter-relate.

This course provides participants with an understanding of 3 of the critical areas of effective safety management: Legislation / Due Diligence, Workplace Inspection, andIncident Investigation.

 

Training Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the term Due Diligence and understand the scope of Health and Safety Legislation affecting the workplace.

  • Navigate the applicable legislation.

  • Outline the legal responsibilities of the management team as well as their specific role in establishing a safe and legally compliant workplace.

  • Identify and apply key concepts in the areas of workplace inspection and incident investigation.

  • Senior Executives,

  • Supervisors and Managers,

  • Joint Health & Safety Committee Members,

  • Safety Managers, Coordinators and other technical resources.

 

Course Length and Options:

This is a full-day (8-hour) training session.

This session can be customized for provincial or federal legislation. It can also be customized to reflect the specific Incident Investigation / Workplace Inspection policies, procedures and forms currently being used within the client’s site.
