TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS

4 hour training programs

Introduction:

The handling, offering for transport or transporting of dangerous goods as defined in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Act requires that all individuals involved in the process are trained and competent to do so. This program provides the information necessary for organizations to certify their employees (as legally required).

Employees will be provided with the theoretical knowledge necessary to acquire a Record of Training for handling, offering or transporting dangerous goods by ground within Canada.

 

Training Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the specific regulatory references and requirements of TDG legislation.

  • Apply knowledge of the legislation to their workplace.

  • Define and identify classifications, safety marks and exemptions.

  • Identify packaging requirements and shipping documentation.

  • Understand their responsibilities with regard to the transportation of dangerous goods as well as their corresponding reporting requirements.

 

Target Audience:
  • All employees or associates, who may be required to ship, receive or transport dangerous goods,

  • Supervisors and Managers,

  • Health & Safety Committee Members.

 

Course Length and Options:

This session is typically offered in a 4-hour format.

Please Note: this training program addresses the safe transportation of dangerous goods on the ground only. It does not address transportation of dangerous goods by air or water.

All participants will be required to successfully complete a written evaluation as part of the training program.

A written Record of Training (ROT) will be provided for participants that successfully complete the program.
