HEALTH AND SAFETY AWARENESS;  SUPERVISOR

8 hour training programs

Introduction:

In direct response to Regulation 297/13: Occupational Health & Safety Awareness, STACS Inc. has developed and is now delivering a new series of training sessions.

This new legislation affects every worker and supervisor working in provincially-regulated company in Ontario. The provincial Ministry of Labour Inspectors will be in a position to confirm compliance with this legislation, as of July 1, 2014.

The Supervisor course is presented in an interactive multi-media format, allowing the participants to develop a clear understanding of the 6 main points required under Regulation 297/13. In addition, this program addresses other key topics to assist with an employer’s legal obligation to ensure that a supervisor meets the legal requirements of a Competent Person.

 

Training Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to understand:

  • The duties of the employer, supervisor and worker. Worker rights. Roles and responsibilities of Safety Committees / Safety Representatives.

  • The role of the Ministry of Labour (MOL) and the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB).

  • How to recognize, assess and control workplace hazards, and evaluate those controls. Sources of information on Occupational Health and Safety.

 

Target Audience:

All levels of supervision, including:

  • Lead Hands,

  • Coordinators,

  • Supervisors,

  • Managers,

  • Senior Executives.

 

Course Length and Options:

This is a full-day (8-hour) training program.

A written comprehension check will be administered as part of the training module. Participants that successfully complete the program will be provided with a Record of Training (ROT).
