Fall Protection - New Regulation Announcement

For all of our American customers, please be advised that the OSHA General Industry Standard has been re-written and according to our sources, it should be in effect by October of this year. Please note the posting below:

Personal Fall Protection Systems– OSHA says: “A new section would be added to subpart I that provides criteria for fall protection equipment. This new section would make the general industry standards consistent with existing construction and maritime standards regulating fall protection, as well as current industry practice, and give clear standards on fall protection PPE to employers.”

As you may or may not realize, fall protection equipment has for the first time ever been included in subpart I (the PPE standard) and this means that employers will have to conduct a written hazard assessment for each and every job where associates are working at height.

For more information on what this newly written standard entails or on how to conduct this written hazard assessment, please contact us.
